For more than 11 years, Jimish has been a valued member of NSW Health Pathology, working as a Hospital Scientist and 2IC at Moruya Hospital. As part of a multidisciplinary laboratory team, Moruya Pathology delivers on‑site services across specimen collection, biochemistry, haematology, transfusion and microbiology, supporting clinicians and patients across the region.

“As a hospital scientist, I have the opportunity to maintain and upgrade my skills across multiple disciplines,” he explains. “As 2IC, I’m also able to support managerial tasks and continue developing my leadership skills.”

What drives him most is the connection between his daily work and patient outcomes. “A healthy society is a happy society, and NSW Health Pathology plays a vital role in achieving that. Each day, I know I am contributing to a bigger vision.”

The concept of care is central to his approach. “Care is about being there for someone when they really need you – even when they don’t expect it. When I do my work with the utmost precision and get results where they need to be on time, I know it’s not just a job. It has a meaningful impact on the community.”

Teamwork is also a standout part of the role. “In my day‑to‑day work, I interact with patients, clinicians, colleagues, technicians, couriers and suppliers. Everyone plays a part in protecting patients and communities.”

A proud advocate for teamwork, he says simply: “Working together makes even the most complex tasks achievable – and that’s something I’m very proud to be part of.”

Outside of work, weekends are all about family, faith and balance – starting with morning tea and worship, followed by family meals, time at the gym or walking along the beautiful South Coast’s beaches, and staying connected with family and friends overseas.

Jimish’s story shines a light on the critical role pathology professionals play in care delivery across NSW.
