About our services for Healthcare Professionals
NSW Health Pathology offers a range of services beyond our clinical diagnostic services to support health professionals in caring for people at all stages of life, right across the state.
NSW Health Pathology has developed a new online statewide Test Catalogue. This single source of truth provides accurate, real-time and reliable testing information for thousands of tests.
It provides a level of detail not previously available including guidance around specimen collection, transport and handling, patient preparation information and advice and our interactive pathology request form.
You can access it now on your mobile device or desktop.
We offer secure electronic downloads of your patient’s pathology reports. You can get timely, accurate and reliable pathology results delivered straight into your practice software helping you manage your patients’ needs.

PathWorks Mobile App
Access public pathology test results when & where you want them
NSW Health Pathology is rolling out a mobile app that lets clinicians reliably, securely and conveniently access patient test results when they’re on the move.
Clinicians at Royal North Shore Hospital, North Shore Private Hospital, Port Macquarie Base Hospital as well as Ryde, Mona Vale and Hornsby hospitals can now register for access to the new PathWorks app.
PathWorks has been rigorously designed and tested to meet world best practice for secure delivery of vital pathology information for improved patient outcomes.
The service will be gradually rolled out in other regions of NSW as enhancement of the service continues.
To find out how you can access the PathWorks mobile app, contact Brett Matthews, Client Relationship Consultant at [email protected].
Having a modern, agile and efficient statewide specimen transport network is a critical part of our day-to-day operations. NSWHP employs a team of 120 couriers who collect and transport some 15 million pathology specimens across NSW each year.
Transporting samples from our collections centres to our laboratories means patients get the answers and treatment they need regardless of where they live in NSW.
