Stephanie Hales ensures inter­dis­ci­pli­nary oper­a­tions and stake­hold­er require­ments are high­ly inte­grat­ed. Her port­fo­lio includes receipt/scientific tech­ni­cal sup­port, data ana­lyt­ics, stake­hold­er engage­ment, qual­i­ty, train­ing and research. She has over 20 years’ expe­ri­ence in foren­sic sci­ence, hav­ing worked in both sci­en­tif­ic and senior lead­er­ship roles at NSW Police and FASS, with a focus on dri­ving organ­i­sa­tion­al change. She has man­aged the imple­men­ta­tion of new ser­vices and the design and com­mis­sion­ing of laboratories.

Stephanie holds a Bach­e­lor of Sci­ence Applied Chem­istry with Hon­ours in Foren­sic Sci­ence and car­ried out doc­tor­al research in gun­shot residue and explo­sives and Hon­ours research in illic­it drugs. She has pro­vid­ed exten­sive expert tes­ti­mo­ny in Courts in NSW. Stephanie has act­ed as indus­try super­vi­sor for numer­ous research projects and has pub­lished ref­er­eed papers, a book chap­ter and a large num­ber of con­fer­ence pre­sen­ta­tions. She is a mem­ber of sev­er­al advi­so­ry groups.
