Our Forensic and Environmental Toxicology laboratories are part of NSW Health Pathology’s Forensic & Analytical Science Service.
They work with:
- NSW Health
- Environmental Health Branch
- Public Health Network
- NSW Coroners Court
- Department of Communities and Justice
- NSW Police Force
- Transport for NSW.
Teams provide independent, objective analysis for matters including coronial cases, drug-affected individuals, and drinking water and environmental water.
They provide bespoke analyses for public health investigations and support research.

Forensic Toxicology, Drugs and Driving Toxicology and Drug Toxicology Unit
These teams provide highly specialised analytical services. They perform toxicology testing to identify instances of drug use and intoxication, and cause of death through the provision of highly specialised analytical services.
Water Microbiology, Trace Inorganic, Clinical & Environmental Toxicology Legionella Reference laboratories
Our teams provide specialised microbiological and chemical water testing services. They help keep our drinking water supplies safe and building water systems free of Legionella.
