Dr Dean­na Paulin is the Direc­tor of the Foren­sic and Ana­lyt­i­cal Sci­ence Ser­vice (FASS), NSW Health Pathol­o­gy’s statewide provider of foren­sic med­i­cine, foren­sic sci­ence and ana­lyt­i­cal services.

Dean­na is an expe­ri­enced health exec­u­tive with more than a decade of exec­u­tive lead­er­ship expe­ri­ence across foren­sic ser­vices, health and com­plex gov­ern­ment organ­i­sa­tions. She has led sig­nif­i­cant foren­sic and health ser­vice ini­tia­tives, dri­ving improve­ments in ser­vice qual­i­ty, gov­er­nance, infra­struc­ture, work­force capa­bil­i­ty and cross-agency col­lab­o­ra­tion. Her lead­er­ship expe­ri­ence includes work­force and cul­ture, strate­gic plan­ning, oper­a­tional man­age­ment, sys­tem reform and stake­hold­er engage­ment across health, foren­sic and oth­er pub­lic sec­tor services.

As Direc­tor, FASS, Dean­na leads a diverse port­fo­lio of spe­cialised ser­vices that sup­port the jus­tice sys­tem, pub­lic health and com­mu­ni­ty safe­ty respons­es across New South Wales. She works close­ly with key part­ners includ­ing NSW Health, NSW Police, the State Coro­ner, Jus­tice agen­cies and nation­al foren­sic organ­i­sa­tions to ensure the deliv­ery of high-qual­i­ty, con­tem­po­rary and trust­ed foren­sic services.

Dean­na holds a PhD and Mas­ter’s degree in Organ­i­sa­tion­al Psy­chol­o­gy, is an AHPRA-reg­is­tered health pro­fes­sion­al, and is a grad­u­ate of both the NSW Pub­lic Sec­tor Lead­er­ship Acad­e­my Exec­u­tive Excel­lence Pro­gram and the Aus­tralian Insti­tute of Com­pa­ny Directors.
