NSW Health Pathology takes reports of serious wrongdoing seriously. We are committed to building a ‘speak up’ culture where public officials are encouraged to report any conduct that they reasonably believe involves wrongdoing, and to responding appropriately to reports of serious wrongdoing .

The NSW Health Public Interest Disclosures Policy (PD2023_026) is the PID Policy for NSWHP which, along with our Public Disclosures Procedure, sets out how we manage reports, of serious wrong doing and the protections that are available to people who make reports.

Under the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2022 (NSW) (PID Act), serious wrongdoing includes:

• corrupt conduct
• serious maladministration
• a privacy contravention
• a serious and substantial waste of public money
• a government information contravention

Reports can be made to the NSW Health Pathology Corporate Governance team via NSWPATH-corporategovernance@health.nsw.gov.au or to any  disclosures officer. Details of current NSWHP disclosures officers are available on the NSW Health disclosure officers web page.

S81 Arrangements

On occasion, NSWHP engages external investigators to conduct investigation of relevant serious wrongdoing. Details of these arrangements is published below consistent with section 81 of the PID Act.
