Local Pathology Director, Mid North Coast
Gumbaynggirr.Richard is the Local Pathology Director for Mid North Coast and responsible for the region taking in Bellinger River, Coffs Harbour, Dorrigo, Kempsey, Macksville, Port Macquarie and Wauchope. Based at Coffs Harbour, he’s the Clinical Director for Anatomical Pathology and lead pathologist for breastscreen pathology services in the mid and far north coast. He’s an experienced pathologist with over 30 years’ experience in all aspects of histopathology and cytopathology. He’s worked in regional areas for his entire working career. He qualified in South Africa in 1992 and has worked in Namibia, UK, NZ and Australia. His special interests include lymphomas, urology, breast and cytopathology (CT/US guided fine needle aspirates and performing FNAs). He’s committed to providing an excellent pathology service and is dedicated to improving pathology services in these areas including both public and community services. He is a member of the Anatomical Pathology Clinical Stream and Mentoring Group.
