Local Pathology Director, Mid North Coast

Richard is the Local Pathol­o­gy Direc­tor for Mid North Coast and respon­si­ble for the region tak­ing in Bellinger Riv­er, Coffs Har­bour, Dor­ri­go, Kempsey, Macksville, Port Mac­quar­ie and Wau­chope. Based at Coffs Har­bour, he’s the Clin­i­cal Direc­tor for Anatom­i­cal Pathol­o­gy and lead pathol­o­gist for breast­screen pathol­o­gy ser­vices in the mid and far north coast. He’s an expe­ri­enced pathol­o­gist with over 30 years’ expe­ri­ence in all aspects of histopathol­o­gy and cytopathol­o­gy. He’s worked in region­al areas for his entire work­ing career. He qual­i­fied in South Africa in 1992 and has worked in Namib­ia, UK, NZ and Aus­tralia. His spe­cial inter­ests include lym­phomas, urol­o­gy, breast and cytopathol­o­gy (CT/US guid­ed fine nee­dle aspi­rates and per­form­ing FNAs). He’s com­mit­ted to pro­vid­ing an excel­lent pathol­o­gy ser­vice and is ded­i­cat­ed to improv­ing pathol­o­gy ser­vices in these areas includ­ing both pub­lic and com­mu­ni­ty ser­vices. He is a mem­ber of the Anatom­i­cal Pathol­o­gy Clin­i­cal Stream and Men­tor­ing Group.
