Prof Emmanuel Faval­oro has been part of the NSW Health Land­scape for over 40 years. He cur­rent­ly works at the Insti­tute of Clin­i­cal Pathol­o­gy and Med­ical Research (ICPMR), locat­ed with­in the West­mead Hos­pi­tal precinct. He over­sees haemosta­sis (“blood clot­ting”) test­ing with­in the Diag­nos­tic Haemosta­sis Lab­o­ra­to­ry (DHL), a part of the Haema­tol­ogy Depart­ment. He has a major inter­est in lab­o­ra­to­ry diag­nos­tic test­ing relat­ed to bleed­ing and throm­bo­sis dis­or­ders. The DHL site per­forms all the spe­cial haemosta­sis test­ing referred from the West and Rural/Regional net­work of lab­o­ra­to­ries. Prof Faval­oro also helped over­see the harmonisation/standardisation of all haemosta­sis test­ing per­formed with­in NSW Health Pathol­o­gy. He has over 700 pub­li­ca­tions and is on the Edi­to­r­i­al Board of sev­er­al inter­na­tion­al jour­nals. He is affil­i­at­ed with both Charles Sturt Uni­ver­si­ty (Wag­ga Cam­pus) and Syd­ney Uni­ver­si­ty (West­mead Campus).
