NSWHP CIO James Pat­ter­son leads a dynam­ic team of ICT pro­fes­sion­als at a time of unprece­dent­ed tech­nol­o­gy-dri­ven trans­for­ma­tion in pro­vi­sion of pathol­o­gy services.

He leads inno­v­a­tive strate­gies to exploit the full poten­tial of NSWHP IT sys­tems, to enhance the con­nec­tiv­i­ty of its statewide oper­a­tions and to lever­age the vast quan­ti­ties of data gen­er­at­ed every day. He is a vocal advo­cate for dig­i­tal inno­va­tion in key lab­o­ra­to­ry tech­nolo­gies and automa­tion, minia­tur­i­sa­tion of instru­ments, devel­op­ment of per­son­al test­ing devices, dis­tance pro­cess­ing and diag­no­sis of dig­i­tal rep­re­sen­ta­tions of spec­i­mens and more.

James com­menced his career in the bank­ing and finan­cial ser­vices sec­tor here and in Lon­don. He has suc­cess­ful­ly applied tech­nolo­gies for sus­tain­able ser­vices with lay­ered, val­ue-adding fea­tures and capa­bil­i­ties. Now he active­ly pur­sues valu­able part­ner­ships with tech­nol­o­gy indus­try lead­ers to dri­ve inno­va­tion in health to deliv­er the best pos­si­ble patient care.
