Translational Scientist - Molecular Medicine
Awabakal.Based in Newcastle. Raewyn has nearly 20 years experience in Genetics, 6 years spent in Molecular Genetics before working in Forensics and then completing her Masters in Medical Genetics in UBC, Vancouver, Canada. The past 7 years she has worked as the Translational scientist in the department of Molecular Medicine at the JHH.
As the translation scientist, Raewyn is responsible for the research, design, validation, and implementation of new technologies and tests to be used in the clinical genetics lab. Part of this position also involves the design and validation of genetic tests requested by clinicians that may not have been previously tested in the lab.
