Based in New­cas­tle. Raewyn has near­ly 20 years expe­ri­ence in Genet­ics, 6 years spent in Mol­e­c­u­lar Genet­ics before work­ing in Foren­sics and then com­plet­ing her Mas­ters in Med­ical Genet­ics in UBC, Van­cou­ver, Cana­da. The past 7 years she has worked as the Trans­la­tion­al sci­en­tist in the depart­ment of Mol­e­c­u­lar Med­i­cine at the JHH.

As the trans­la­tion sci­en­tist, Raewyn is respon­si­ble for the research, design, val­i­da­tion, and imple­men­ta­tion of new tech­nolo­gies and tests to be used in the clin­i­cal genet­ics lab. Part of this posi­tion also involves the design and val­i­da­tion of genet­ic tests request­ed by clin­i­cians that may not have been pre­vi­ous­ly test­ed in the lab.
