Senior Hospital Scientist, Statewide Services - Genomics

Michael has worked as a sci­en­tist in diag­nos­tic genet­ic lab­o­ra­to­ries for approx­i­mate­ly 20 years in the pri­vate and pub­lic sec­tors. He has recent­ly tak­en up the Senior Sci­en­tist posi­tion in Genomics Statewide Ser­vices and is work­ing to estab­lish the Sequenc­ing Ser­vice at New­cas­tle to help strength­en the NSW Health Pathol­o­gy Genomics net­work across the state. Michael will be work­ing close­ly with the oth­er mem­bers of the Genomics team to devel­op the New­cas­tle ser­vice enabling it to pro­vide genomics sequenc­ing data for pathol­o­gists to report on and pro­vide to refer­rers so they can deliv­er a greater lev­el of per­son­alised care to the patients of NSW Health.
