As Operations Director Criminalistics, Sharon oversees testing in Forensic Biology/DNA, Illicit Drug Analysis and Chemical Criminalistics, supporting criminal and coronial investigations including sexual assaults, homicides and identification of unknown human remains. Sharon has 30 years’ experience in Forensic Science and experienced firsthand the advances in technology and how they have been applied to forensic investigations and the Justice system in NSW. She played a key role in the implementation of automation and expert interpretation systems, provides lectures to stakeholders and has provided extensive expert testimony in criminal trials. Sharon holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Natural Science, a Master of Science and a Master of Science Management. She is a NATA assessor and was part of a team of Australian biologists seconded with the Australian Federal Police to assist in identifying the unknown deceased following the Boxing Day tsunami in Thailand.
