Training Officer
Darug.Leesa Ellam is the Training Officer for the Illicit Drugs Analysis Unit (IDAU) at NSW Health Pathology’s Forensic & Analytical Science Service (FASS), which provides analytical services relating to suspected prohibited drugs, manufacture of prohibited drugs, pharmaceuticals, and other restricted substances. The IDAU primarily supports the NSW justice system, but also contributes to NSW Health outcomes through drug intelligence projects, public safety notifications, and rapid chemical analysis.
Leesa oversees the training program and manages the training activities for the IDAU, as well as facilitating laboratory and organisational-wide learning and development opportunities.
Leesa has over 15 years of experience in forensic and analytical science, including chemical analysis, crime scene examination, provision of expert evidence in court, and development of comprehensive training programs.
