Dr Nigel Lyons has almost 40 years experience in the Australian Health system as a clinician, manager, executive and advisor.
He is currently contributing to healthcare through a number of boards and councils including NSW Health Pathology, NSW eHealth, ACT Health System Council, Royal Flying Doctor Service (South East), Cancer Council NSW and is also contracted as an advisor to Medibank Private and Amplar Health.
Nigel has had extensive experience as a leader in NSW Health most recently as Deputy Secretary Strategy and Planning a position he held for 6 years with previous appointments including Chief Executive of the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation and Chief Executive of Hunter New England Area Health Service.

Ensures responsible financial management of public funding; financial and management accounting; tax; revenue; billing; and private practice arrangements. Manages procurement, fleet management, business development and environmental initiatives to increase sustainability.
Our Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) enacts the strategy of NSW Health Pathology and directions of the NSW Health Pathology Board. Members ensure we deliver quality, human-centred pathology and forensic and analytical science services across NSW.
Sets strategic direction and drives service transformation to meet the evolving needs of patients and partners in healthcare. Responsible for planning, performance and innovation, and operational management of genomics, point of care testing and six clinical streams.
