Darug. Dr Catherine Pitman

Dr Cather­ine Pit­man is the Act­ing Direc­tor Pub­lic Health Pathol­o­gy and Staff Spe­cial­ist and Micro­bi­ol­o­gist at NSW Health Pathol­o­gy, based at NSW Health Pathology’s ICPMR Westmead.

Dr Pit­man works close­ly with NSW Min­istry of Health direc­tors of sev­er­al divi­sions and her clin­i­cal peers to devel­op appro­pri­ate advice and input to address pathol­o­gy-relat­ed sys­tem issues.

Cather­ine is also cur­rent­ly a mem­ber of the NSW Health Ser­vice Design Ref­er­ence Group for Pathogen Genomics, and pre­vi­ous­ly held advi­so­ry roles with the Aus­tralian Dig­i­tal Health Agency, and the Roy­al Col­lege of Pathol­o­gist of Aus­trala­sia as the Chair of the Pathol­o­gy Infor­ma­tion, Ter­mi­nol­o­gy and Units Stan­dard­i­s­a­tion work­ing group.
