Our Forensic Scientists provide independent, objective analysis to the NSW health and justice systems. They help solve crimes and safeguard public health.
Our forensic and analytical science laboratories provide independent analysis to the NSW health and justice systems with specialist forensic biology/DNA, illicit drugs analysis, chemical criminalistics, forensic and environmental toxicology testing and evidence recovery services.
They’re located in Sydney at Lidcombe and North Ryde and support NSW Government agencies including NSW Police Force, NSW Coroner, NSW Health, Roads and Maritime Service, Corrective Services, Community Corrections and Communities and Justice.
Our Forensic Scientists are highly regarded and successful in research grants and university collaborations and work in a dynamic environment where innovation to meet evolving challenges is supported.

Supporting our world-class Forensic and Analytical Science Service to provide independent, objective analysis to the NSW health and justice systems, helping solve crimes and safeguard public health. While mostly based in the lab, you may be required to attend crime scenes and give evidence in court.

Cytologists work in our Anatomical Pathology departments using microscopes to examine the structure and function of individual cells helping doctors diagnose disease, often cancer.
