A/Director of Operations
David is the Acting Director of Operations, NSW Health Pathology West. David oversees strategy, performance and operations for laboratories situated within Western Sydney LHD (Westmead ICPMR, Blacktown, Auburn, Mt Druitt) and Nepean Blue Mountains LHD (Nepean, Blue Mountains, Lithgow). David’s substantive position is Operations Manager , NSW Health Pathology Hunter, where he was based in Newcastle and was responsible for performance and operations for laboratories situated within the Hunter to Manning geographical areas. David has also been the Acting Director of Operations for North for a period of 15 months during the initial period of the COVID-19 pandemic.
David has 30 years of experience in public Pathology having commenced his career as a Trainee in a multi-discipline regional laboratory. He has worked in all disciplines before settling in Microbiology and then progressing into management.
Our chemical pathologists analyse chemicals in our body fluids and tissues to help diagnose and manage disease. They play a unique dual role of doctor-scientist, looking at changes in human body chemistry for screening, diagnosis, prognosis and management.
