The HR Sup­port Ser­vices’ ‘A day in the life of’ video project pro­duced 11 videos that show­case the pas­sion we have in pathol­o­gy and the amaz­ing work our peo­ple do every day, in every role, to care for our com­mu­ni­ties, for all of us.

This was a new and inno­v­a­tive way for us to show­case employ­ment oppor­tu­ni­ties and engage with prospec­tive tal­ent dif­fer­ent­ly by giv­ing peo­ple a ‘sneak peek’ into what a ‘day in the life of’ key pathol­o­gy roles real­ly looks like.

It was also a great oppor­tu­ni­ty to build on our RITE cul­ture, bring­ing us togeth­er as one NSW Health Pathol­o­gy – a unit­ed but diverse work­force made up of peo­ple who go above and beyond every day to cre­ate bet­ter health and jus­tice systems.

The videos have had very pos­i­tive feed­back from both exter­nal stake­hold­ers and inter­nal­ly, as they demon­strate how proud we are as an organ­i­sa­tion to show­case our staff. The employ­ees fea­tured in the videos also enjoyed see­ing their roles pro­mot­ed and celebrated.

Mak­ing the videos was a tru­ly col­lab­o­ra­tive effort, as our HR Sup­port Ser­vices team worked with our lab­o­ra­to­ry man­agers, oper­a­tions man­agers, Strate­gic Com­mu­ni­ca­tions team, and of course our video ‘tal­ent’ them­selves to devel­op, pro­duce and pro­mote the videos. This was not always an easy process, as COVID-19 meant film­ing onsite was not always pos­si­ble, which impact­ed logis­tics and delayed the pro­duc­tion schedule.

The team is proud to have found an inno­v­a­tive way to show­case our employ­ees, pro­mote our job oppor­tu­ni­ties, and high­light NSW Health Pathol­o­gy as a great place to work.
