Melanie is the Research Sup­port Lead for Rur­al & Region­al NSW and is respon­si­ble for over­see­ing the research sup­port ser­vices deliv­ered by Research Coor­di­na­tors with­in their des­ig­nat­ed area, ensur­ing these ser­vices are of high qual­i­ty, respon­sive to needs, and aligned with NSW Health Pathology’s strate­gic and oper­a­tional plans.

Bring­ing over 30 years of expe­ri­ence as a Hos­pi­tal Sci­en­tist and Lab­o­ra­to­ry Sec­tion Man­ag­er, with a strong com­mit­ment to align­ing research sup­port ser­vices with oper­a­tional capac­i­ty, she is ded­i­cat­ed to build­ing and main­tain­ing pos­i­tive rela­tion­ships with Local Health Dis­tricts (LHDs), Spe­cial­ty Health Net­works, exter­nal clients, and research inves­ti­ga­tors in rela­tion to research ser­vice requests.
