Clinical Training Coordinator

She/her. Darkinjung. Ms Lorna Deamer

Lor­na is a Reg­is­tered Nurse with more than 10 years’ expe­ri­ence with NSW Health in both met­ro­pol­i­tan and region­al health care facil­i­ties. Her back­ground is in Emer­gency Clin­i­cal Nurse Edu­ca­tion, and she has com­plet­ed stud­ies in Trau­ma Nurs­ing through the Aus­tralian Col­lege of Emer­gency Nurs­ing. Lor­na joined the PoCT team in a mater­ni­ty relief posi­tion in Jan­u­ary 2021 and con­tin­ues to share the posi­tion of Clin­i­cal Train­ing Coor­di­na­tor with col­league, Amy Suther­land. Lor­na pro­vides clin­i­cal­ly focused edu­ca­tion to PoCT device oper­a­tors and staff across NSW with spe­cif­ic focus on pre-analytics.

Sets strategic direction and drives service transformation to meet the evolving needs of patients and partners in healthcare. Responsible for planning, performance and innovation, and operational management of genomics, point of care testing and six clinical streams.
