Dr Genevieve McK­ew has inter­ests in the mol­e­c­u­lar deter­mi­nants of antimi­cro­bial resis­tance, rapid lab­o­ra­to­ry detec­tion and iden­ti­fi­ca­tion of sep­sis-caus­ing bac­te­ria, hos­pi­tal-acquired infec­tions, treat­ment of staphy­lo­coc­cal and ente­ro­coc­cal infec­tions, qual­i­ty use of antimi­cro­bials, and the impact of mol­e­c­u­lar typ­ing on infec­tion pre­ven­tion. She also has a clin­i­cal and lab­o­ra­to­ry inter­est in par­a­sitol­ogy, mycol­o­gy and non-tuber­cu­lous mycobac­te­r­i­al infec­tions, wom­en’s health and infec­tion, and qual­i­ty in lab­o­ra­to­ry medicine.
