Communications Manager

Emma joined the NSW Health Pathol­o­gy Strate­gic Com­mu­ni­ca­tion team in ear­ly 2022 to sup­port the organisation’s Strat­e­gy and Trans­for­ma­tion portfolio.

Emma prides her­self on build­ing hon­est, col­lab­o­ra­tive rela­tion­ships, and pro­vid­ing reli­able advice and com­mu­ni­ca­tion ser­vices to sup­port Genomics, Point of Care Test­ing, Inno­va­tion and Plan­ning and Per­for­mance. She also sup­ports Chief Exec­u­tive Tracey McCosker via the Office of the Chief Exec­u­tive portfolio.

Emma worked in print jour­nal­ism before mov­ing into pub­lic health com­mu­ni­ca­tion with HNE LHD in 2007. She has exten­sive expe­ri­ence in con­tentious media issues man­age­ment, and Exec­u­tive and Min­is­te­r­i­al Ser­vices (EMS) includ­ing min­is­te­r­i­al and par­lia­men­tary briefs, respons­es to MPs, patient com­plaint respons­es and Health Care Com­plaints Com­mis­sion matters.

Emma’s pro­fes­sion­al inter­ests include sus­tain­abil­i­ty, advanc­ing Abo­rig­i­nal Health, health infra­struc­ture and plan­ning and change man­age­ment communication.
