Local Pathology Director, Central Coast Local Health District and Microbiologist
He/him. Darkinjung.Dr De Wit is responsible for supervising all branches of public pathology within the Central Coast to ensure the highest quality service is delivered.
He’s part of the local pathology team that is best placed to remain responsive to the current and evolving needs of the hospitals and communities throughout the Central Coast.
Dr De Wit works closely with hospital clinicians and executives to ensure pathology operates efficiently and with a focus on patient management. He also helps increase awareness and education around pathology request ordering and the most effective utilisation of pathology services.
In addition to managing the local pathology team, Dr De Wit is a microbiologist and has a special interest in clinical infectious diseases. He brings a wealth of international experience to the position with over 25 years of public and private pathology experience in South Africa, the United Kingdom and Australia.
