Asso­ciate Pro­fes­sor Jason Ardler is a Yuin man from the NSW South Coast and is Asso­ciate Dean, Indige­nous Strat­e­gy and Ser­vices, Fac­ul­ty of Med­i­cine and Health, Uni­ver­si­ty of Sydney. 

In 2020, he co-found­ed Thirri­wirri, a con­sul­tan­cy firm that sup­ports First Nations’ com­mu­ni­ties and their part­ners to build the con­fi­dence, capa­bil­i­ties and con­nec­tions to work dif­fer­ent­ly togeth­er and achieve tan­gi­ble improve­ments in their lives. 

For over 20 years A/Prof Ardler held senior exec­u­tive roles in the NSW pub­lic sec­tor, lead­ing Gov­ern­ment strat­e­gy and reform in Abo­rig­i­nal eco­nom­ic par­tic­i­pa­tion, com­mu­ni­ty gov­er­nance, land rights, cul­ture and her­itage and ser­vice accountability. 

In 2018, A/Prof Ardler received the Pub­lic Ser­vice Medal (PSM) for out­stand­ing pub­lic ser­vice, and in 2019 was made a Fel­low of the Aus­tralia and New Zealand School of Gov­ern­ment. He was recent­ly appoint­ed Chair of the Nation­al Indige­nous Aus­tralians Agency’s Indige­nous Eval­u­a­tion Committee.
